I booked at the hotel a standard double room for 4 nights at the price of 312 Euro. Based on the photos I saw a neat room with basic furnishing. Which was fine with us. However when we arrived we got a dirty room, stains on the wall next to the bed, with old and broken bathroom tiles, no door between the room bathroom and toilet. A true dump! I complained and was advised that the Pension is currently remodeling and not all its rooms are of the same standards. However, if I wanted I could upgrade to their delux room at a higher charge, total of 360 Euro for the stay. This appears to be a scam! The website does not show the true condition of all the rooms. This reflects badly not only on the Hotel but also Booking, that cannot truly guarantee that what I see and book is what I get.

The hotel location is pretty good. Two subway lines and a very nice commercial street surround the area. Small supermarket, fast food stores and restaurants are in the neighbourhood. Downtown and turistic sites can be reached by a pleasant walk or by subway.
There is a bathtub in the shower area, what is unconfortable and risky for slippery.

The location
I hate it when you think you're staying in a nice place because the photos reflect that but when you turn up you are bitterly disappointed. The entrance and bar area is very clean and modern but then you are led upstairs to a series of tiny rooms which are furnished with a bed and an old table and chair. The curtains do nothing to block out the light and you are awake as soon as the sun comes up. The rooms have a washbasin but the toilets and shower (and there is only one for all floors) are shared by everyone who hasn't paid for a 'deluxe' room. The shower is dirty and tiny and is in fact a small bath with a ledge in it which makes it very hard to stand up especially if you have big feet. Very disappointing. And Booked.net should reflect photos for all rooms and not just for the ones that have been made to look good for the purpose of the website.

A very good hotel! The location is excellent, one can reach so many sightseeings on foot!! So I did, for example. The Museumsquartier is nearby, Hofburg too and then Kohlmarkt, Graben, Stephansdom and so on... The staff is very good, at the reception they helped me very much when I tried to send a parcel to home, they told me everything and helped me with the U-Bahn Shedule as my train departed very early... The free Wi-Fi was great! No problem with bathrooms and WC, no queues)) I can strongly recommend you this hotel! The prices were really good, especially taking into account the location and comparing with other hotels!

The room I stayed in was stunning, with beautiful stained glass windows showcasing the family coat of arms. The hotel has an interesting history, with features like an arched stone gate brought from a nearby castle. The staff was polite and responsive to any concerns, and the restaurant, Huntly, was fantastic.
Didn't dislike anything about the property.

location is great, easy to to find it and, close to the main public transport connections, the hotel is at the back side of loudly Mariahilferstrasse.
the building is old, the privacy in the room is poor, old doors, no isolation from the corridor, shared WC at the corridor is disgusting, BUT for a night or two the hotel is acceptable
